Description
The Heavy Duty General Purpose aid is an updated version of Active Hand’s General Purpose gripping aid for those who want to lift heavier weights. It includes several improved components to make it stronger.
They have created these aids in response to a growing number of customers who have requested bespoke stronger, uprated aids.
The Heavy Duty General Purpose aid has the following changes that make it more durable:
- Heavy Duty Webbing – The webbing used for the wrist strap and across the back of the hand is a stronger, polyester webbing. This webbing has increased strength properties and further reduces any stretch when being used under heavier loads.
- Additional Stitching – Active Hands have added additional stitching for increased structural strength, and to hold the Velcro on to the webbing. This adds longevity to the product when being used at extremes over a long period of time.
- Metal Buckles – Active Hands have replaced the plastic buckles on the wrist strap and the overhand strap with metal ones. This gives extra strength and durability over the plastic buckles used on the standard general purpose aids.
- Thicker Neoprene – Active Hands have used a thicker and more dense neoprene for the padding. The normal general purpose aids use a 5mm neoprene as padding. The heavy duty aids use a 7mm thick neoprene which is also a more dense neoprene variant. This gives additional comfort around the wrist in particular for those pushing the limits of lifting. The neoprene also has a woven backing on one side to reduce wear.
Please be aware that due to the stiffer materials used, these aids may feel different to your general purpose aid, especially when you first use them.
