Description
Skiing is one of those things that can feel out of reach after a spinal cord injury. AbleNet’s adaptive snowsport lessons are designed to change that, with expert instructors who tailor every session to the individual and a range of adaptive techniques to suit different needs.
Sit-skiing is available for those who need it, using a specially designed seat mounted on a ski frame that lets you experience the slopes without needing to stand. Riggers, which are short outrigger poles used for balance and steering, are also available for those who prefer a more upright approach. Your instructor will work with you to figure out what works best before you get on the snow.
Lessons are available in one or two hour sessions, with a break built in to recharge. All sessions take place at one of three indoor slopes:
- Manchester, Chill Factore
- Hemel Hempstead, The Snow Centre
- Tamworth, Snow Dome
